When I came to know that our next project is about to visualise our experience and to help us reflect on our journey at Amal by identifying an object, person, scenery, animal, or anything that reminds us of our first 2 weeks at Amal Academy. The only object that comes to my mind is my beloved laptop.

Few snaps of my Laptop

Whenever there is a conversation about fellowship, it reminds me of my laptop. Whether it’s a project work, writing a blog, live sessions, or online meeting, I need my laptop. I still remember I had an emergency due to which I had to take the live session from my aunt’s house. I was not having my laptop at that time and how hard it was for me. And I vividly missed my laptop. I even gave the interview as well as attended the activities from the same laptop.

My happy place ❤

Now it’s time to share my experience through out the journey. By the way, what can I say about my experience, and my leanings!

The thing which I learned the most was professionalism. Like my soft skills got polished very much which wasn’t gleamed that much before. If I talk a little bit about this, I though leadership is just a name of having an authority, only he who has authority can lead. But, Amal turned my whole perception regarding it. And that’s when I realised the true meaning of teamwork. It’s the Amal which taught me how to stay positive even when nothing seems to be positive and how to be productive all day long by applying different techniques. The most important thing is that I learned how to make a better resume and how to ace the interview process. Before the Amal thing that happened to me, giving interview always seemed monster to me and the passenger series was literally amazing. I even didn’t know that finding a mentor for ourselves was that much necessary. Amal taught me the best ways of network building, cover letter and elevator pitch that undoubtedly benefited me so much and helped me get the internship. We’ve also been taught some technical software like Microsoft power point, word and excel.

Some glimpses of the last session

Through this amazing journey, I met so many amazing people from whom I actually learned a lot whether it’s live sessions, break out rooms, circle or learning group meetings.

If I talk about the beginning of the journey, I used to think that it was like a burden to me, seemed like an obstacle of my routine which was added forcefully into my life. But time passed I gradually realised instant and drastic change in my skills. That’s the time I was so proud of my decision. In the initial weeks of fellowship, it all started with the wonderful phase of life of discovering ourselves which made us find our why’s, how’s and when’s of our professional and personal goals. Which of course, the hectic pace of our lives never make us think like that. We’ve created the life map and learned how to live a life of purpose. These initial courses helped me work on my strengths and weaknesses.

Don’t be sad because it’s over, smile because it happened #lastSession

Lastly I’m so grateful to all those fellows with whom I interacted as well as the people I haven’t interacted with much through out the journey. And I would like to thank my program managers Sir Anis and Ma’am Aliya the MOST. Sir Anis, what should I say in praise of yours! Thank you for always being there for us, answering to all my queries, replying with in few seconds without any delay and understanding our situations and problems. Thank you Sir for assisting and leading us so well. Literally hats off to you! Your one on one sessions are always worth having. And Ma’am Aliya, I’ve run out of words to appreciate your politeness, your smile, your nature, your support for all of us through out the tenure, your humbleness and your informative and constructive feedback. I always wonder how anyone can be so soft-spoken.

In short you both have had a profound effect on our lives and made such an immense impact that even the debt can not be repaid. I literally pray for you both.

Thankful to all the fellows and both program managers ❤

Thank You Amal !❤
